A field of 24 APA captains and co-captains turned out on Saturday, March 28 to compete in the APA of Greater Albany’s Albany Annual Captains Tournament. The $100.-added tournament, played on Diamond Eight’s 7-foot tables, saw a number of great matches, with many going to the hill for both players.
It was Chris Smith who emerged victorious from the field, defeating Kervin in a tight final match. Chris said he felt lucky to have gotten through the field, “Of the five matches I won, four of them went hill-hill. It was a very competitive, but fun, day.”
In third place were Shawn Moulton and Brenda Budka, who both had very good days. Brenda snapped an 8- on the break early in the day to gain some confidence and momentum.
