Team Diamond Eight, led by Audre Hartman, has tied for 9th place in the 2009 APA Northeast Challenge, and finish “in the money.” Congratulations!
On Friday, July 31, the first day of the tournament, Ann Smith won a one-game “sudden death” match to give the team their second team victory of the day. They returned on Saturday to continue along the winner’s bracket. While the team shut out their first opponent of the day on Saturday, 3-0, they were edged out in sudden death to finish the tourney in 9th place. Teams members include Audre Hartman, Chris Smith, Ann Smith, Del Robinson, Matt Lockart, Bill Majer, and Ryan Brown. The team “had a great time” and is looking forward to sharing their stories with us at Diamond Eight.
The 2009 Northeast Challenge was held at Big Shot Billiards in East Windsor, CT. Diamond Eight has sent teams to the tournament, open only to “East Coast” APA teams, for the past three years. A Diamond Eight team led by Tom Acciavatti won the event in 2007.
