Long Live Diamond Eight Billiards!

After 22+ years in business in the Latham community, Irene Skawinski has sold Diamond Eight Billiards. Jackie Ford and Alison Brown are the new owners effective today, March 26, 2013.

Irene and her husband Ed opened Diamond Eight Billiards in 1990 on Troy-Schenectady Rd. in Latham with ten pool tables. After Ed’s passing in 2000, Irene kept Diamond Eight going strong in its current location with the help of her family, including her son Ed, daughter-in-law Angela, daughter Christine, her brothers, sister, nephews and nieces, and her two grandsons Eddie and Jonathan.

We want to thank all of our past employees who helped shape Diamond Eight Billiards and added to its rich history. We also want to thank all the friends who helped us over the years in many ways, especially with our numerous charity events. You are all forever part of the Diamond Eight family.

Of course, Diamond Eight would be nothing without its “customers” (you have all been more than just “customers” to us). The best feeling is when you see people come in and really enjoy themselves. We have had lots of fun over the years and that has always been our goal with Diamond Eight: provide a venue for people to have fun. We think pool brings together people of all ages and backgrounds and it is nice to see that played out in real life.

Over the last 23 years, Diamond Eight has been very active in community charity, including running an annual golf tournament for ten years to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region. Diamond Eight was also known for its annual Toys for Tots drive, which culminated in a fun doubles tournament that was always well-attended.

Thank you again for all your support through the years! Please continue to support Jackie and Ali as they continue the adventures of Diamond Eight Billiards, the most fun pool room in the Capital Region!
