Finals
In 8-Ball, “Home Team” continued their winning streak by sweeping “Did You See That?” (Michael Kordt) 3-0. All the matches were very close, but “Home Team” was able to overcome the pressure to win the 8-Ball Fall Session trophies. Congrats to both teams, as they are now qualified for the Local Team Championships to be held at Diamond Eight in June.
In 9-Ball, “Home Team” {Ed Skawinski) and the “Intimid8ters” (Mark Strock) battled back and forth in a very tight race. Angela Skawinski and Steve Smith met in the final and deciding match, and both players played at the top of their game. Angela ran the two balls she needed (with Steve needing one more ball for the win) to take the match 12-8 and bring “Home Team” their second set of trophies for the night. Congrats to Mark and his team for a hard-fought match. They are a very gracious team to play!
“Home Team” will face the “Intimid8ers” in 9-Ball and “Did You See That?” in 8-Ball. The finals will be held Sunday, January 11th at 6pm. Good Luck to all the teams!
Playoffs
In 8-Ball, “Did You See That?” (Michael Kordt) edged out “Odd Balls” (Ivan Anthony) 3-1 for the win, while “Home Team” (Ed Skawinski) took down “Pool Nutz” (Frank Bogardus) 3-0.
In 9-Ball, “Intimid8ters” (Mark Strock) subdued “Pool Nutz” while “Home Team” rolled to victory against “Blue’s Cues” (John Robinson).
“Home Team” will face the “Intimid8ers” in 9-Ball and “Did You See That?” in 8-Ball. The finals will be held Sunday, January 11th at 6pm. Good Luck to all the teams!
Fall Session Results
In 8-Ball, “Did You See That?” (Michael Kordt) and “Pool Nutz” (Frank Bogardus) dominated the session as no other teams in recent memory and took 1st and 2nd place respectively, clinching the top spots well ahead of the last week of play. “Home Team” (Ed Skawinski) squeaked by “Rack ‘em Up” (Michael Goodspeed) and “Blue’s Cues” (John Robinson) to take the coveted #3 spot. “Odd Balls” (Ivan Anthony) got the lucky pick for the wild card.
In 9-Ball, “Blue’s Cues” (John Robinson) turned in an impressive performance on the last regular night of play to leap from 4th place to 1st by 6 points. The “Intimid8ters” (Mark Strock) took 2nd place, while “Pool Nutz” (Frank Bogardus) maintained their consistency across formats by taking 3rd place. Fourth place “Home Team” (Ed Skawinski) ended up with the wild card and will compete for their chance to enter the LTCs.
Playoffs for Double Jeopardy begin next week, January 4th. Practice at 4:30pm and play at 6pm. Good Luck to all the teams!
